Feel good reality TV is making its move from helping just one person at a
time to focusing on one of the greatest areas of need: Schools! With so
many budget cuts too many schools are being neglected. Even the
buildings that house the environment of education for hundreds of
students for three fourths of the year are too often in need of repair,
especially in lower income areas. NBC’s School Pride is making a difference.
In each episode a public school is completely renovated in just one
week. With the help of the students, parents, teachers, and the entire
community of volunteers, plus the show experts, they transform a
dilapidated school into a source of community pride and educational
inspiration. As NBC points out, “Studies show that beautiful schools
result in higher scholastic achievement, and we’re putting that theory
to the test.”The season premiere of School Pride airs Friday, October 15th at 8/7c on NBC. What a great way to spend the school year watching School Pride
as a family helping to remind children to take pride in their school
and encouraging parents to get involved. Even if you don’t have school
age children to watch with, it’s a beautiful story of volunteering for a greater cause and coming together as a community to make it happen.Executive Producer Cheryl Hines took the time to personalize this video preview of School Pride.
